By her admission, An Laurence is doing very well. She has received a good western education, has a job she loves, and her social circle is thriving. But she has one longing: to see her parents. Her biological parents.
An Laurence was born Ren Anyuan (任安媛) in 1994. She was adopted from Chenzhou, Hunan – 湖南郴州 – by a Canadian couple and brought to Canada the next year. An has always been searching for her biological parents for years now.
LC Venture has been very active in helping reunite long-separated Chinese families as part of its giving-back efforts. In 2018, we partnered with Jiangyin Family Searching Volunteer Association, a volunteering association in Jiangyin, Wuxi. Established in 2010, the Association has since helped unite hundreds with their Chinese relatives. In April this year, LC Venture was once again on the scene with the Association and helped unite two families separated for over 50 years. An happened to read the article above through an online search. She reached out via email and shared a very touching video message. (See below). By it, she hopes that someone with information can see it and help her in her search for her biological family in the Chenzhou area in Hunan.
Searching for these families is not easy, especially in a country of over 1.4 billion people. But we hope her long wait is coming to an end soon. As long as there is a glimmer of hope, we will keep searching for An Lawrence’s relatives.
If you may have any information on An Laurence parents or any adoptees from Chenzhuo or any other location in China, or if you are looking for your loved ones, please let us know by emailing us at info@lcventure.com or calling at +86 (0) 10 6552 7018.
