Gaston CheeCo-founder | Group Chief Executive OfficerMr. Gaston Chee came from a unique background; life and work experience, leadership qualities and cross- cultural skills uniquely position him served as our Chief Executive Officer and as a member of our board of companies. Born and raised in Malaysia, studied and worked in the UK and started his first company in his early 20s, which was backed by leading UK venture capital firm Midven through its £8 million Early Advantage Fund. His talent in languages and interpersonal skills enable him to build rapport and network easily across different cultures. As the group CEO, Gaston is both pragmatic and passion-driven. He possesses the skill to keep the flame of the business vision ablaze, both internally and when presenting the company to the general public. He holds a degree in Engineering and Business from the University of Warwick. He has a strong track record in building business relationships and strategic partnerships that bring added value to different stakeholders, having worked in both the education (The Russell Group) and private sectors (Fortunes Global Top Companies for Leaders). In his role as our Groups CEO, he is responsible for growing the family of businesses and brands, which is done by partnering or acquiring existing companies as well as creating new ones. In his spare time, he also enjoys speaking engagements, talking about family wealth management and entrepreneurship and motivating youth to know more about their origins and getting involved in things that creates value. In 2010, Gaston received recognition from UnLtd (the worlds largest Social Enterprise Network) as the United Kingdom Higher Education Champion of Change for Social Entrepreneurship. He later received the Enterprise in Action Award from Coventry University in recognition for his contribution for helping the University to achieved the Entrepreneurial University of the Year’ in the Times Higher Education Awards in 2011. More recently, Gaston was featured as one of the top 50 person of the year in 2014 for shaping the education landscape in China by Studying Abroad Magazine and was nominated for the Entrepreneur of the Year award 2014 by the British Chamber of Commerce in China and China Britain Council. Jennifer LeongCo-founder | Senior Vice President (China) and Chief Marketing OfficerJennifer holds an Accounting and Finance degree from Warwick Business School and is part qualified in ACCA. She has outstanding organisational skills and commands excellent knowledge in finance. She has a flair for entrepreneurial development and, with extensive exposure to the university system, has demonstrated a proven track record in developing and delivering activities targeted at international students within the Higher Education environment. Jennifers entrepreneurial journey started in her first year at Warwick University. Together with two other colleagues from Warwick Business School, she came up with the concept of online food ordering and conceptualised a new company called E-resistible Ltd. This is currently ranked as the 2nd fastest growing online food ordering business in Europe. On an international level, Jennifer was one of the three who represented United Kingdom for the UK-China Synergy Programme where she was also chosen to give a speech in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. She is our right-hand honcho, she knows how to whip the team into shape so they can give world-class service to our customers, always. She has got a charisma that inspires people wherever she goes, and an extraordinary energy and optimism that she radiates and instils into others around her. This is a true asset that.
